#4-How can you Renew Your Mind?
The Fourth Step of the GAVRA Morning Reset
Hello everyone,
I hope everybody is doing well and being blessed today.
Today I want to share the fourth letter of the GAVRA Morning Reset: R — Renew Your Mind.

Today, we’ll connect those practices by learning how to renew your mind.
This practice has changed my life, and I keep learning about it every day. Everything I am sharing here comes from my personal experience, from books I have read, from teachers I have learned from, and from ancient wisdom that has inspired me over the years.
One verse that has stayed with me for a long time is:
“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” — Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)
Another idea that has inspired me comes from a book by Rabbi Zelig Pliskin:
“The quality of your thoughts is the quality of your life.”
I love this simple idea because it reminds me that if we improve our thoughts, we can improve our lives.
That is exactly what renewing your mind is about.
How Our Mind Works
I would like to begin by asking you a few simple questions.
Have you ever noticed that when you start thinking about something sad that happened in your past, you begin to feel sad all over again?
Sometimes we even cry. The event may have happened years ago, but the emotions come back as if it happened yesterday.
Now let me ask you another question.
Have you ever remembered something funny?
Maybe a family vacation. A joke someone told you—a happy moment with your children. Without even trying, you begin to smile.
Nothing around you has changed. The only thing that changed was your thoughts.
Here is another example.
Suppose someone blamed you unfairly or spread gossip about you.
Every time you replay that situation in your mind, you become angry again.
It doesn’t matter if it happened yesterday or ten years ago. Your body reacts as if you are living through the situation once more.
Have you noticed that?
If so, you are not alone. I think many of us have.
These are simple examples, but they help us understand something important about how our minds work and how our thoughts play a huge role in how we feel. If those examples of how our thoughts make us change our feelings give you a wake-up call or inspire you to try to renew your mind and start experiencing a different result in your life, you are in the right place.
Our thoughts affect our emotions.
Our emotions affect our attitudes.
Our attitudes affect our actions.
And our actions affect the direction of our lives.
That is why learning to renew our minds matters.
There Is Research Behind It
Today, much research shows that our thoughts influence our emotions, our behaviors, and even our brains.
Scientists call this neuroplasticity, which simply means that our brains can change throughout our lives.
The more we repeat certain thoughts, the stronger those mental pathways become.
In other words, the thoughts we repeat become habits.
The encouraging news is that our minds are not fixed forever.
- We can learn new ways of thinking.
- We can replace unhealthy thoughts with healthier ones.
- We can develop new habits that lead us toward peace, gratitude, wisdom, and hope.
I find this fascinating because it agrees with what wise teachers have been saying for centuries.
Long before neuroscience existed, people understood that our thoughts influence our lives.
Feed Your Mind Like You Feed Your Body
I like to think about the mind the same way I think about the body.
We all know that if we don’t take care of our bodies, we eventually experience the consequences. If we constantly eat unhealthy food, avoid exercise, and never rest, our bodies eventually become sick.
The same thing happens with our minds.
The difference is that our body is physical, so we can easily see the results.
Our mind is invisible.
Its consequences are often invisible too.
But they are just as real.
If we constantly feed our minds with fear, negativity, criticism, worry, resentment, or discouragement, those thoughts eventually begin to shape how we see ourselves and the world around us.
On the other hand, if we feed our minds with gratitude, wisdom, truth, encouragement, faith, and hope, we begin to think differently. And when we think differently, we begin to live differently.
That is why renewing our minds is not something we do once. It is something we practice every day.
So, How Can We Feed your Mind?
This is where the GAVRA Morning Reset comes in.
I created GAVRA to make personal growth simple. It’s where I share the steps I took on my personal growth journey.
Sometimes we make growth so complicated, and we never get started.
GAVRA makes it practical.
- Easy to remember.
- Anyone can adjust it to their own lifestyle.
That is why GAVRA follows five simple steps.
G — Gratitude
Begin your day by noticing the good.
Instead of focusing on what is wrong, train yourself to look at what is good and positive.
Gratitude changes your perspective.
A — Affirmations
Speak positive and truthful words over your life.
Our words influence our thoughts.
The more we repeat healthy beliefs, the more we begin to believe them.
V — Visualization
Imagine the person you want to become.
See yourself making wise decisions.
See yourself living with peace.
See yourself becoming the best version of yourself.
R — Renew Your Mind
This is where we intentionally replace negative thinking with healthy thinking.
How can you renew your mind?
Some ideas on how you can start rewiring your mind. With GAVRA, you practice:
- Reading.
- Learning.
- Reflecting.
- Praying.
- Studying.
We spend time with wise teachers through books.
Little by little, we replace old thoughts with new ones.
As Rabbi Zelig Pliskin teaches, Upgrade your mind, upgrade your life.
I love that phrase because it is simple and practical.
If we upgrade what enters our minds, we begin upgrading our lives.
A — Action
Finally, we take action. Coming soon with ideas on how you can take action every day.
- Knowledge without action produces very little change.
- Small actions repeated every day become habits.
- Habits eventually become our lifestyle.
The Power of Daily Habits
One thing I have learned is that transformation usually does not happen overnight. It happens little by little, in our daily routines and habits.
- When we practice gratitude daily…
- When we constantly speak affirmations…
- When we constantly visualize a better future…
- When we continue renewing our minds…
- When we take constant action…
Those small daily choices begin to create a completely different life.
That is why I believe so much in simple routines.
- They are easier to remember.
- They are easier to practice.
- And they are much easier to maintain over time.
My Personal Goal with GAVRA
When I created the GAVRA roadmap, my goal was to create a simple, practical routine everyone can start and maintain.
I wanted something that people could actually use. simple. practical.Something that could fit into a busy life.Something easy to remember.Something that people could grow with.
As you continue practicing the GAVRA roadmap, you can slowly add new habits and continue growing at your own pace.
No one is expected to be perfect.
The goal is simply to continue growing in daily life. Little by little.Step by step—day by day.
Remember: renewing your mind daily.
Renewing our minds is one of the greatest gifts we can give to ourselves.
Every day we have a choice. We can keep repeating old thoughts that no longer serve us, or we can begin planting new thoughts.
- Healthy thoughts.
- Hopeful thoughts.
- Grateful thoughts.
- Thoughts that help us become better people.
Just as we feed our bodies every day, we also need to feed our minds every day.
The more we feed our minds with wisdom, gratitude, truth, and hope, the more those things become part of who we are.
That is why the fourth step of the GAVRA Morning Reset is so important.
- Renew your mind.
- Upgrade your thinking.
- Upgrade your habits.
- Upgrade your life.
I truly believe that when we intentionally practice gratitude, affirmations, visualization, renewing our minds, and taking action every day, we slowly become the person we are meant to be.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
I hope this post encourages you to begin renewing your mind, one thought at a time, one day at a time, and one step at a time.
Keep growing with grace, and I’ll see you in the next post as we finish the final letter of GAVRA.
